Kuala Lumpur based Maharajalela recently release their debut, ‘Jualbeli Tanggapan’ (which we were supposed to add to our online store, but sold out before we had the chance to), is a record that throws you from one side of the emotional spectrum to the other, drowning you in some reverbed experimental folk-psychedelia. Though the music might not be instantly understandable (thats the whole point), Maharajalela is definitely one of the ‘nusantara revivalist’ acts you should keep an eye on.
