Record Club, Beck’s latest brainchild, is like a book club but way cooler. It’s really an informal meeting of various musicians, where they record and reinterpret an existing album, all done within one day without prior rehearsals or arrangements. They’ve previously recorded renditions of Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen, INXS with the likes of Annie Clark (St Vincent) and Davendra Banhart.

St Vincent (aka Annie Clark) will be heading down to Singapore this 15th March, in conjunction with the Mosaic music festival. This multi-instrumentalist (she used to perform alone, like with a guitar, kick drum etc) singer songwriter used to play with the massive (literally) The Polyphonic Spree and toured with Sufjan Stevens for a bit, as his guitarist.  She has since released Marry Me (2006) and Actor (2009).

St Vincent will be performing at the Esplanade Recital Studio in Singapore (2x 60 minute sets, 7:30PM and 9:30PM) this coming 15th of March. Tickets are SG$30 and SG$20 (concession).
