Soundscape Records & The Actors Studio presents The Hidden Sessions Vol 3, happening on the 4th and 5th Nov 2011

We had the chance to catch the 2nd volume of The Hidden Sessions last month, and were pretty blown away by what was presented to us. IOHO, the show’s venue, sound and visual accompaniment fully justified the RM30 ticket price.

Come November, Soundscape Records and The Actors Studio brings for the 3rd edition of The Hidden Sessions, featuring the likes of Iqbal M, Like Silver, Silent Scenery, The Maharajah Commission, Enterprise, and Khottal . Tickets are RM30 a pop, and is available at The Actors Studio (Lot 10), iLasso Tickets and KLPaC Box Office.

We were pretty psyched when we saw a ‘teaser‘ for Khottal’s new single, YMFT (Your Most Favorite Thing) a couple of months back, since it has been quite a while since they’ve released any new material. Produced by Paku Tekan and the band members themselves, watch their official music video for YMFT below.

Khottal has been actively uploading home-made videos of them performing new songs on their youtube channel (for instance, here’s an early version of YMFT from a couple of years back) , but since their last EP, Woo Song (2009), they’ve been relatively quite in terms of releasing new material (official records). Now with a slight change in their lineup, we hear that they’ll be heading into the studio to record another release, though we’re unsure if its a full length / EP / single.

Below is a teaser for their upcoming single and music video, YMFT.

Hailing from Melaka, this 10 piece outfit skips between punk, unpolished pop and indie rock. The sheer volume of the band members, and their energy is a breath of fresh air to the local scene. We originally planned to shoot this episode, on the rooftop of Central Market in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, if only it wasn’t for the rain that night. The Khottal boys, along with our production team, had to lugg all those equipment into one of the empty galleries that night, and in the end, at 12 am, began the shoot.
