Three Track Tuesday #5 – Music from South East Asia

Here’s some tracks to get you through the day from South East Asia.

Seaside (ID) – Giggle and Blush

Released by Anoa Records in 2013, ‘Giggle and Blush’ is taken from Seaside’s debut album, ‘Undone’, a dreamy indie-pop release with enough table spoons of shoegaze and jangle guitars, topped with softly sung lyrics.

Gym and Swim (TH) – YUUWAHUU

When this Bangkok indie band released their single, ‘Octopussy’, we were instantly fans of their brand of indie pop and sticky melodic hooks. This fresh track of theirs, ‘YUUWAHUU’, is definitely worth streaming a couple of times.

Tomgirl (SG) – Darker Now

(Editor’s note: the original Soundcloud track is no longer available; we’ve replaced it with a more recent version of the track)

Another side project by Cherie Ko (of Pastelpower, Obedient Wives Club, and more), Tomgirl is a collaborative effort by Cherie and Ted Takeshi Doré, and shows a different side of this multi-talented songstress. Tomgirl is a straight up rock band, that reminds us of mid-late 90s girl fronted rock bands.
