Here’s some new grunge music from Instake, one of the more active bands in the Gerakan Grunge Bangkit collective, and unlike most of their Malaysian grunge peers they’ve actually taken the time and effort to come out with a properly produced EP (with decent production and mixing, as opposed to the usual muddy sounding CD-Rs).
They’ve thrown in some Foo Fighters into the usual grunge mix, as you can probably spot in some of the EP’s 7 songs, which you can listen to below. While there’s nothing here as hooky and accomplished as the Foos (and About Her is way too eerily similar to About A Girl for comfort), this is still quite a commendable effort from the boys, and with a bit more way around a melody, we may well have something interesting from them in the future.
