Self Conscious Acronymed Man releases an epic 39 song 3 disc album entitled Haji Abdul Aziz Haji Ali (HAAHA). You might know him better as the fire breathing, crossdressing guy in Ciplak and the trumpeter for Citizens of Ice Cream and Furniture, better known as Aziz. HAAHA shows a much more mellow side of Aziz, crooning lines like “In my weakest moments / I think of you” over a stripped down bedroom acoustic guitar sound.

Have a listen to his demo tracks on his myspace, and you can get the album for RM30 via post.

*PS – this is not a review, just an announcement. We don’t do reviews, not yet at least.

KLue has announced the music lineup for this year’s Urbanscapes. Hosted at KLPac this coming 26th of June, this year’s all day creative arts festival will see the likes of Azmyl Yunor, Khottal, Yuna, Sphere, Tenderfist, Khottal, SSK, Rogue Squadron, Altimet and many many more. Also included in the lineup are acts voted by the public such as Diandra Arjunaidi and Ariff AB.

Also heard rumors that there will be some special collaborations, like last year’s Deepset X Nyoba Kan, so head over to their official website for the latest updates.

After their short hiatus, and Paul Bank’s solo stint as Julian Plenti, Interpol is back with their latest single Lights. The yet to be named new album will be released in the next couple of months, and is expected to sound a lot more like ‘Turn on the Bright Lights’.

Yuna was recently in America for some recording with her label, IndiePop. Turns out, she managed to squeeze in a lo-fi yet still eye pleasing video clip for her new song, Decorate. Directed by Jonathan Singer Vine, the video was shot on her Canon G10!

The film features the likes of Thurston Moore, Mike Watt, Ian Mackaye, Noam Chomsky and many more, talking about their experiences with record stores (among others).
